Donald Dean Chute was born on December 25, 1944 in Creston, IA to Paul C & Harriet A Spring. He passed away on October 10, 2025 at Northwest Medical Center, Tucson, AZ.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years Sandra and a daughter Dawn Marie (Cal Dreyer) Chute, step-daughter Julie Lockwood, grandchildren Audrey & Logan Dawson, Ellery Lockwood, & Caroline Lockwood Brothers Eric Spring, & Randy (Linda) Spring, & son-in-law Allen Dawson. Also he had many nieces, nephews, and cousins plus he loved his very devoted caregivers, T, DD & Danny.

He loved playing golf, pool, cribbage, bingo, telling jokes, working in his work shop and playing the lottery which he never won. He was very competitive in whatever he did. He Loved being with his family and friends. Plus he loved watching his humming birds. Anyone that knew him knew he loved chocolate.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and the American Legion which he made many donations.

Retired from the Air Force National Guard after 20 years. He also retired from FXE, Mexico City railroad car accounting division. He was in the railroad business for many years.

Proceeded in death by Paul C & Harriet A Spring, daughter Robin A Dawson and brother Douglas M Chute.

He had so many of us family & friends pulling for him. We love and miss him so much. Fly high Don-until we meet again. Always in our hearts.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
