Mr. Donald Edward Clickner, age 90, of Albany Township, formerly of Troy, PA, passed away on Saturday evening, February 1, 2025, at the Highlands Care Center, Laporte, PA.
Donald was born on August 19, 1934, in Auburn, NY, a son of the late Edward John & Irene Viola Clark Clickner. He graduated from the Newfield Central High School in Newfield, NY, as a member of the class of 1952. Shortly after graduating he made his home on a farm in Troy, PA, which began a lifelong career of dairy farming. On August 20, 1971, he married the former Shirley Ann Reed, of Troy, PA, in the North Towanda United Methodist Church. They enjoyed almost 32 years of marriage before her passing on April 9, 2003.
In 1999, Don and Shirley sold their farm and retired from farming. In retirement, Don worked for Wal-Mart for 12 years. He worked at the Mansfield Wal-Mart for 6 years and the last 6 years at the Sayre Wal-Mart.
In early years Don and Shirley enjoyed hunting together and especially enjoyed going to auctions. Don was a member of the American Farm Bureau.
Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by a special friend and companion, Helen Eder of Albany Township, PA, on December 31, 2024.
Private Graveside Services will be held in the Bradford County Memorial Park, Burlington Township, PA, where Don will be laid to rest beside his wife Shirley.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
