Homer Funeral Home - DushoreMrs. Marilyn Helen Snyder Bryan, age 78, of Hollenback, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, February 8, 2026, at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte, PA.
Marilyn was born on February 1, 1948, in Meshoppen, PA, along with her twin sister, Marge to the late Theodore Bunnell and Mary Helen Matthews Snyder. She graduated from Wyalusing High School a member of the class of 1966. She married Thomas Richard Bryan of Dushore, PA, in 1972, and they were married for 47 years before his passing on May 7, 2019.
Marilyn was a seamstress most of her life, working in the various dress factories throughout the area. She later worked at Honchell’s Market and then retired from Cargill.
She was a member of the Hollenback United Methodist Church where she was active for many years. Currently she enjoyed attending the New Albany Baptist Church with her son Peter and his late partner Danny.
She enjoyed spending time with her twin sister Marge, whether going to yard sales, tending to their gardens together, or birdwatching, especially hummingbirds. Marilyn took great pleasure in gardening and maintaining her flower beds around her home. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Marilyn is survived by her loving and devoted son Peter Bryan of New Albany, PA. She is also survived by her brother Harold Snyder of Wyalusing, PA, her sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Audrey Snyder of Sugar Run, PA, Mary “Mamie” Leonard of Dushore, PA, Catherine Hoagland of Towanda, PA, and Jesse Kisner of Sugar Run, PA. She is also survived by her special nieces and nephews: Ronda Snyder, Ted Snyder, Chris Snyder, Jesse “JB” Kisner, Mike Snyder, Debbie Strobridge, William “Butch” Bryan, Jack Bryan III, Michael Toth, Michelle Toth, John Pastusic, Mark Hoagland, Dianne Ward, and Mary DeAlba. She is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews, and many cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a two-year-old brother, Donald Theodore Snyder in 1938, her brother, Larry Wayne Snyder on March 10, 2017, her twin sister, Marjorie E. “Marge” Kisner on July 11, 2022, and her son Peter’s partner, Danny Hollingshead on June 30, 2025. She was also predeceased by her sisters-in-law, Terry Snyder, Theresa Toth, Agnes “Becky” Bryan, and Gloria Ann Bryan, her brothers-in-law: John Bryan Jr., Joseph Bryan, William Bryan, Peter Bryan, John Leonard, Theodore Toth, and Eugene Hoagland, and nieces and nephews: Rose Ann Bryan, Marie VanDeMark, Daniel Bryan, James “Bonzo” Bryan, Paul Pastusic, and Patricia Hoagland.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in the New Albany Baptist Church, 166 Main St., New Albany, PA, with Pastor Richard Houck, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Basil’s Cemetery, and with a luncheon directly following at the New Albany Baptist Church.
Friends and family may call at the New Albany Baptist church on Saturday morning, March 28, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. until the start of the service at 11:00 A.M.
