Paula Bryan

Paula Bryan, 69, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. A longtime resident of Virginia Beach, Paula is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 40 years, Gary Bryan. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Rita.

Paula was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating from Whitnall High School, she spent a summer visiting her sister, Sue, in Virginia Beach, where Sue's husband, Phil, was stationed while in the US Navy. It was during that time that Gary, (Sue's neighbor), noticed Paula-and the rest was history.

Paula and Gary later made their home in the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake, Virginia, where they raised their two children, Eva and Patrick. Gary worked for Ford Motor Company in Norfolk, Virginia, while Paula devoted herself fully to her role as a homemaker. She lived for her family, her animals, her gardens, and her cooking-always caring for others before herself.

Following Gary's passing in 2015, Paula returned to Virginia Beach to be closer to her children. There, she found immense joy in being near her four grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to watch them play sports. Whether it was soccer, softball, or baseball, Grandma was always their biggest cheerleader.

Paula will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, her gentle and sweet disposition, her love of dogs, and her deep love for Jesus.

Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Eva Heiland (husband Kasey) and Patrick Bryan (wife Brandy); four grandchildren, Shea Bryan, Kai Bryan, Haley Heiland, and Keagan Heiland; along with many beloved family members and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel, on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 6:00pm. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
