Todd Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Inc. - Norfolk Chapel on Feb. 6, 2026.
Todd Anthony Baker, 61, reposed in the Lord on February 4, 2026, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on May 8, 1964, in Mankato, Minnesota, to Viola Mae Baker (née Schmidt) and Joseph Baker, Todd lived a life marked by devotion-to country, to craft, and above all, to family.

Todd served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, retiring at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3 after a distinguished career from 1982 to 2005 in the Marine Corps air wing. Over the course of his service, he completed nine overseas tours, including three combat tours. His years in uniform reflected his quiet strength, stalwart leadership, and unwavering sense of responsibility. He did not seek recognition, but earned the respect of all who served alongside him.

After retiring from the Marine Corps, Todd eventually pursued work at Sky Aviation, where he maintained aircraft used in forest fire suppression-protecting land, communities, and lives. He took pride in honest work done well, especially when it served a greater good.

Todd found his deepest joy in the simple, enduring things: spending time with family, being outdoors, teaching marksmanship, watching football, and working with his hands. He was a man who fixed things-machines, problems, and other people's worries-without fuss or fanfare. His presence was steady and grounding. Those who loved him knew him as dependable, loyal, and deeply caring, even when his affection showed itself quietly.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Corin Baker; his children, Carly and her husband Constantine, Grace, and Caelan, who will carry forward his strength, values, and love.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 7220 Granby Street, Norfolk, Virginia.
