James Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allison and Rose Funeral Home on Feb. 6, 2026.
James Earl Baker, 56, of Crittenden, Kentucky, passed away on February 4, 2026. He was born on June 28, 1969, in Covington, Kentucky.

James was married Tina Gail Baker, on March 9, 1995. Together they built a life grounded in family and love.

He was the proud father of his daughters, Jamie Baker (Dustin Proffitt) and Jessica Baker (Steven Brannock), and a devoted Pawpaw to his grandchildren, Kameren Baker, Brantley Proffitt, Kaiden Brannock, and Raelee Brannock. Being a daddy and a Pawpaw were among his greatest joys, and he carried those roles with strength, humor, and a quiet protection that made you feel safe just being near him. His love for his grandchildren was deep, steady, and unconditional.

He was a great son to his mother, May Baker, sharing a close bond filled with love, respect, and devotion. Family always came first for James.

He is also survived by his siblings Ernie Baker, Daryl Baker, Wesley Baker, and Christine Baker, along with many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

James was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Baker, and his sister, Judy Anders.

James was the kind of man who didn't need big speeches to make an impact. He showed love in the simple moments-garage talks, early morning coffee, quiet check-in texts, and simply being there when someone needed him. He had a way of lifting people up without ever asking for recognition. His presence was steady, familiar, and comforting, and his absence leaves a space that can never be filled.

To know James was to know loyalty, humor, and a love that ran deep for his family. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rest easy, Daddy. I love you.
