Donald M. Davenport, age 89 of Shooting Creek, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 after an extended illness. Donald was born June 16, 1936 to the late Floyd and Flora (Spivey) Davenport in Hayesville, North Carolina. He was a good storyteller and always kept people laughing. He loved to garden, go camping or anything to be outside, but above all he LOVED being a Papaw. Not only to his grandchildren but to many that he had grown to love over the years as his own. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leon Davenport, Jack Davenport, Tommy Davenport; sisters, Effie Davenport, Katherine Dupree, Sara Hogsed. He is survived by his children, Donald Davenport Jr., April Davenport, Jennifer Radford; sister, Frances Kirkland; grandchildren, Olivia Davenport, Katelynn Davenport, Madilynn Davenport, Magnolia Radford, Maverick Radford, Tionia Parker; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Monday, June 30, 2025 4:00-7:00 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home
