Donald D. DeSimone, 98, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026. Born on September 20, 1927, in Schenectady, New York, he was the son of John A. and Mary Margaret (DeNegris) DeSimone.

Donald graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1945. Following his graduation, Donald was drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served and played the trumpet in the military band. After being honorably discharged in 1947, Donald attended and graduated from Siena College in 1951, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.

Following his graduation, Donald was employed with Uarco Inc. as an account representative selling business forms. In 1982, he retired from Uarco.

In 1974, he married the former Georgia Young. In 1982, the couple cofounded and operated Desiforms, Inc. They shared a residence between Rexford, NY, and Rancho Mirage, CA, where they maintained a seasonal home.

Both Donald and Georgia enjoyed travelling and spent countless hours on the golf course together with their many friends. The couple held memberships at the Mohawk Golf Club in New York and the Desert Island Golf Club in California.

He is predeceased by his parents, his loving wife, Georgia DeSimone, his sister, Dorothy (Matthew) McDonald, and his stepson, Richard William Strain.

He is survived by his son, John T. DeSimone; stepchildren, Robert Wesley Strain (Ursula), seven grandchildren, Jessica Louise (Martin), Marc Alexander (Dorina), Jean Marie (Adam), Richard William (Melissa), Eric Michael (Elizabeth), and twins, Sherrie Lynn and Christa Nicole; great grandchildren Gavin Parker, Eva Noelle, Blake Kennedy, Ethan Finch, Mia Valentina, Josephine Selinde and Thomas Wesley.

Family and friends are welcome to St. Anthony's Church in Schenectady for a calling period on Monday, March 2nd, from 10 AM to 11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM, followed by military honors and burial at Saratoga National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
