Susan Davidson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Glenville Funeral Home - Glenville on Mar. 10, 2026.
Susan Anne (Aunt Sue) Davidson, 71 of Schenectady, NY passed away on January 28 in Albany, NY. Sue was born in Rockville Center, NY to Daniel and Thelma Davidson on November 14, 1954. She graduated from Hicksville Sr. High in 1972 and went on to a nursing degree from Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center School of Nursing in 1975.

She started her nursing career at Greer Children's Services in Millbrook, NY, before pursuing her true calling as a Labor and Delivery Nurse in Southern Pines, NC. She then continued her career at Albany Medical Center, where she retired in 2014 after 31 years.

Aunt Sue's world revolved around her family, and she found her greatest joy in the everyday moments spent with those she loved most. She shared a close and lasting bond with her sister and brothers, and her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart-she cherished every opportunity to spend time with them, laugh with them, and watch them grow. Whether it was at a holiday celebration, birthday, graduation, theatrical event, or a volleyball or soccer game, Aunt Sue would always be there. In Sue's eyes, "family" meant not only those directly related to her but also included their extended families and friends. As a result, her family was always growing, and all were able to benefit from the extra happiness and cheer she brought to any occasion. To all, she was, and always will remain, their beloved "Aunt Sue".

Sue is survived by her sister, Barbara (Edward) Huenniger of Liverpool, NY, brothers Daniel (Cynthia) Davidson of Gloversville NY, and James Davidson of West Islip, NY, nephews James (Lauren Wilson) Huenniger of Highland, NY, Thomas (Kailin) Davidson of Brooklyn, NY, Stephen Davidson of Astoria NY, Shamus Davidson of West Islip, NY, and nieces Amy (Mike) Wunsch of Newhall, CA, Jennifer (Evan) Horne, of Mayfield, NY, and Tara (Ryan) Davidson-Romanoff of Glenville, NY, life-long friend Susan Kinney of Wappingers Falls, NY, and several grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Thelma Davidson, and sister-in-law Patrice Davidson.

Sue had requested that the family hold a party in her honor, and in keeping with that request, there will be a Celebration of her life on May 2, 2026, from 12:30-4pm at Max410 at the Waters Edge, The Terrace, 2 Freeman's Bridge Road, Schenectady, NY 12302. Come, join us and share memories and a meal in honor of our dear sister.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Red Cross.
