Don Dinnel, 70, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2025, with his beloved family by his side. Though he has left this world, his legacy of strength, love, and unwavering dedication will live on forever.

Born on January 30, 1955, on a Naval base in Corpus Christi, Texas, Don spent his formative years on a dairy farm in Platteville, Colorado. He embraced the values of hard work, perseverance, and community—principles that would guide him throughout his life. He graduated from Valley High School in Gilcrest before earning his degree in Physical Education from Colorado State University, setting the stage for his lifelong passion: teaching and coaching.

Don began his teaching career in Rawlins, Wyoming, where fate introduced him to the love of his life, Trish Parker. The two were married on August 1, 1981, and soon after, they moved to Mountain View, Wyoming. Together, they not only built a family but also dedicated themselves to inspiring and mentoring countless students and athletes. As a coach, Don led many teams to championships, but his true triumph lay in the values he instilled in his players—discipline, integrity, and perseverance. Football was more than a game to Don; it was a tool to mold strong, confident individuals who would carry his lessons far beyond the field.

Don’s love and dedication to his family was unwavering. He especially treasured sharing his passion for football with his young grandsons, creating memories that will forever be cherished.

Don’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched, especially his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Trish; his loving mother, Darlene Monroe; his beloved children, Dusty (Alex) Dinnel and Kaila Dinnel (Brent Schroeder); and his adored grandsons, Maddox and Jaxson. He is now reunited with his father, Dale Dinnel, and his stepfather, Tom Monroe, in eternal peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 10, at McArthur Funeral Home in St. George, Utah. A visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by services. Interment will take place immediately after at Ivins Cemetery, with lunch to follow.

Don Dinnel’s life was a testament to the power of dedication, kindness, and love. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Online condolences and memories may be shared at mcarthurfuneralservices.com. Live streaming will be available prior to the service on the funeral home website.
