Donald Joseph Welch “DJ” passed away June 22, 2023. Son of Donald E. Welch and Linda Olsen Welch, he was born on December 21, 1980. He was a resident of Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He grew up in Baton Rouge in the Greenwell Springs area and later moved to Grand Isle. He was a graduate of Grand Isle High School. He served his country in the United States Navy and was Honorably discharged in 2022 after 20 years of service. He had recently settled back in the Covington, Louisiana area. He had many friends and was loved by all that knew him.
He is survived by his father, Donald E. Welch of Franklinton, Louisiana, son Daylen Welch, son Vincent “Vinnie” Welch, Two sisters, Melissa Bradberry Soileau of Cut Off, La and Angela Courville Wright of New Roads, Louisiana, and three brothers, Carlos Lawton of Covington, Louisiana, Raymond Bradberry of Cut Off, Louisiana, and Jacques Courville of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana. He joined in heaven his mother, Linda Olsen Bradberry of Grand Isle, Louisiana, step-mom Tanner "Diana" Welch of Franklinton, and step-dad, Raymond “The Governor” Bradberry of Grand Isle, Louisiana.
DJ was always entertaining, therefore we will have a celebration of his life on Friday, June 30th, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Highway 437 Covington, Louisiana.

Deepest condolences for friends and family. Hang on to all yall fond memories! He would crack me up when he strut into the Front Bar doing an imitation of Raymo The Governor of Grand Island! He had the walk perfect!

I am so sad to have learned of Donnie's untimely departure from us. I am glad to have met and known him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all who cared about and loved him. Rest in paradise until we meet again.

Kendall, Tanner and I will always be thankful for introducing your family into our lives from 2004 until 2013, while we were married. We miss Nana and talk about her often, and Linda too. Papa Don... we love you and are sorry about what has happened.
