Donald G. Dommer

Donald G. "Don" Dommer, 93, of Winamac, IN passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Winamac. He was born on February 22, 1932 in Denham, IN to the late Otto L. and Mollie E. (Henning) Dommer. He attended a one room school in rural Pulaski County, IN. From 1952-54, Don was stationed at Ft. Knox, KY where he served in the Honor Guard and Color Guard with the US Army 3rd Armored Division. On August 15, 1953, he married Hannah M. Garling in Winamac. Don and Hannah recently celebrated 72 years of marriage. They were longtime members of St. Luke Lutheran Church and served their church faithfully throughout the years.
Don was an operating engineer with the IUOE Local #150. For many years, Don was an avid HAM Radio operator "N9IDL". He was a talented woodworker, who blessed many with his creations. Don enjoyed finding bargains at garage sales. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation will take place at Frain Crematory in Winamac.
Visitation will be from 11 AM – 1 PM EST Monday, November 3, 2025 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
Military Graveside Services will be held at 2 PM EST Monday, November 3, 2025 at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac.
