Donald F. “Donnie” Durgin, 71, of Dover, NH, formerly of Beverly, MA, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Beverly, MA on September 9, 1954, Donnie was the son of the late William and Dolores (Pigeon) Durgin. He graduated from Beverly High School in 1972 where he was a star athlete - and he loved to talk about it.
After moving to the Philadelphia area for work, he met his beloved wife, Marian, and they married in 1983. He couldn’t stay away from New England, and after a few years, they moved back north, where they raised their daughters and he worked for Dexter/Henkel for many years. His proudest accomplishment was being a father to his girls and later, a loving grandfather. He also loved being a best friend to his daughters’ partners.
Donnie was a diehard fan of all Boston sports teams and would happily tell you stories of traveling for Patriots games or all of the golf courses he'd been to. If the Red Sox were playing, he was watching. He will also be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of music, and always keeping any situation light.
Donald is survived by his wife Marian, his three daughters: Jacqueline Blake (James), Kelley Durgin (Brian Eller), Meghan Durgin (Dana Goodrow), and his wonderful grandson Derry Blake. He is also survived by his siblings: Lloyd (Kathy), Thomas (Cindy), Mark (Jayne), Scott (Stephanie) and Jody, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Details on a celebration of life service will be announced at a later time.
