Born May 14, 1940, Dr. Don Durrett passed away peacefully at Lenbrook after extended illness from Parkinson's. Born in Birmingham, AL, Don was the only child of Milton and Eva Durrett. He attended the University of Alabama receiving his undergraduate and medical degrees with honors. After his internship at Grady Hospital, he served two years in the Army in Nuremberg, Germany. Following his radiology residency at Emory, Don began a thirty plus year career as Chief Radiologist at South Fulton Hospital.

A gentle and generous spouse and father, Don prioritized family time and left a legacy of fond memories. He and Karin were members and Sunday school teachers at Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain. He is remembered as a loving husband and a selfless, sacrificial father.

Don is preceded in death by Karin (Severud), his loving wife of 46 years. He will be dearly missed by his five children: Don Jr. of Marietta; Dr. Lynley Durrett (Brian Thomas) of Buckhead; Lori Berger (Mark) of Atlanta; Christian (Saraliene) of Marietta; Dana (Fia) of Dunwoody. Also, ten grandchildren: Amelia (Jack), Mitchell, Lydia, Laurel, Lindsey, Luke, Viva, Cara, Grady, Calvin, and great granddaughter, Marley Jean. Also survived by first wife, Linda Motley, of Atlanta.
