Donald P. Ebben, age 73, passed away on August 27, 2025, at St Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. Don was born on May 28, 1952, to the late Robert and Dorothy (O’Connor) Ebben. He spent most of his youth in Menasha and graduated from St Mary’s High School. Following high school Don entered the US Army for a brief stint. Upon returning to the Fox Valley, he met Mary De Bruin and the two had a fortuitous first date which led to 49 years of marriage.
Don and Mary had two daughters, and they raised their family in the Appleton Area. Don was active in the lives of his daughters. From coaching (once) to attending all events he (and Mary) was the ultimate cheerleader! With Mary, Don owned and operated Blue Print Service in Appleton until they sold it in 2017. It’s still the same family run business that it’s always been-something that was important to Don.
Don had so many passions, not the least of which was proudly expressing his joy at being Irish! He loved to watch Packer games, hunting, cruising Legend Lake on the pontoon boat and golfing. Holidays were always special for Don-especially the Fourth a July! He was a proud partying patriot!
Don is survived by his wife Mary; his daughters Melissa (Zeke Swango) Ebben, Tara (Matt) Poulsen; grandchildren: Isaiah, Violet, and Owen. He is further survived by his siblings: Greg (Mary) Ebben, Mark (JoAnne) Ebben, David (Cheryl) Kiesow, Mary Zielinski; sister-in-law Peg Ebben; as well as other family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Chuck Ebben.
A celebration service for Don will take place on Friday September 5, 2025, at 4:00pm, at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 2:00pm until the service begins.
Special thanks to St Paul Elder Services-Poppy Path as well as St Paul Hospice for their compassionate care of Don these last years.
