Donald John Galati was born in Manchester, Connecticut on August 7, 1938. He went home to be with Jesus on September 18, 2025 at the age of 87.
Don grew up in Windsor, Connecticut and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford in 1960. He went on to teach physics and math and coach sports at a private boarding school in Cornwall, Connecticut. He also taught in South Bend, Indiana and at Makawao, Maui, and at Yavapai College in Prescott.
Shortly after moving to Prescott in 1980, a "chance meeting" with three golfers at Antelope Hills changed his life. The men joined Don to make a foursome. Turns out they were all from the Foursquare Church (now, the Potter's House). That night, May 22, 1980, at the age of 41, Don was "born again". His was a radical conversion.
In 1988, a year after expressing to his pastor that he had a burning desire to take the gospel into Communist China, Don was launched into the city of Shenzhen.
While there, he smuggled in Chinese bibles from Hong Kong, and led many souls to the Lord. During a five year span in which he ministered the gospel in eleven nations, he saw God work numerous miracles of healing, with many precious souls coming to Christ.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Agnes Galati, his step-mother, Ann, Half-sister, Marcia, and his brother, Mike. He is survived by several cousins and nieces in Australia, Hawaii, California, and Connecticut.
