Robert Galati Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley & Stow Funeral Home on Mar. 1, 2026.
Robert Francis Galati, aged 68 years, of Southampton, NJ passed away suddenly on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Robert is the beloved husband of Rebecca Lynne Galati (nee Petley), loving father of Nicole Galati, Kristina and Joseph Battaglia, and Justin and Heather Galati, proud grandfather of Leonardo, Christian, Matteo, Alexander, Ava, and Arabelle, dear son-in-law to Sandra Ann Petley, adored cousin and uncle, survived by many dearly loved nieces and nephews, and (although he was an only child) he was a treasured brother to those he chose to be brothers with.

Robert, lovingly referred to as Bob (or Bert) was born to Romayne Ann (nee Sollami) and Francis Dominic Galati in Trenton, NJ on January 4, 1958. He grew up in Trenton and Toms River, NJ, where he attended Toms River North High School and was an all-star athlete, 3-star letterman and captain of the wrestling, baseball and football teams. He graduated in 1975 and went on to Rider College where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He served as president of Theta Chi Fraternity, continued playing baseball in the Ed Carleton League, and carried on a successful wrestling career including attending the National AAU Junior Olympics in Turkey in 1976.

Bob married his high school sweetheart, Rebecca (Becky), in 1980, had 3 beautiful children and laid roots in South Jersey. He was an entrepreneur at heart, running several of his own businesses before he broke into the mortgage industry in which he ran his own company for over 30 years. He and Becky were active in the local community and schools, especially supporting their children in sports and other extracurricular activities.

Bob loved golfing, playing blackjack, a great sandwich, and a good cigar with a glass of scotch. But more than anything, he enjoyed his time with family and friends. Bob was a well-loved member of the community; always ready to lend a hand or an ear to anyone that needed it. He is already greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation at the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ 08055, on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10am-11am. Funeral services will begin at 11am. Committal services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bob to The American Heart Association to support research, education, and community health programs for those with cardiovascular diseases.
