Donald Wray Gegenheimer entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Merlin Ann Gegenheimer for 70 years. Father of Kimberly Gegenheimer, Pamela Chiasson (Kevin), and Bambi Panagiotis (Dan). Son of the late Margaret and Philip Gegenheimer. Brother of the late Persian, Marvin, Thomas John, and Barney Gegenheimer, and Rita Faye G. Gardner, Phyllis G. Hubert, Doris G. Parker, and Theresa G. Jordan. Grandfather of David, Jason, Jennifer, Justin, Joshua, Lesley, Lindsey, Lily, Maggi and Anni. Also survived by many, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside Service on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11am at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Open Door Church, 1709 Dulles Drive, Lafayette, LA 70506 in his memory.
