Donald J Gianone, 56, of Algonquin, IL, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. Donald was born March 12, 1965 in Chicago, IL, and graduated from Brother Rice High School in 1983. In 1981, he was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame when Brother Rice won the state football championship, a particularly fond memory for Donald. In 1990, Donald joined the Local #1 Structural Ironworker's Union, and began a 29 year career as an ironworker, responsible for many buildings in the Chicago skyline and other buildings within Chicagoland. He was a kind spirit who would help anyone in time of need, and he always loved to laugh and make others laugh. A bit of a practical joker throughout the years (even before his favorite show "Impractical Jokers" came about), he was very much loved and brought joy to the hearts of those he knew. He loved going for walks each day, and LOVED music. Donald was also crazy about puzzles (crossword puzzles, sudoku, etc.), and let's just say you wouldn't want to play him in Jeopardy! He was truly one of a kind, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Donald is survived by his life partner, Sandra White, of Algonquin, Illinois, his three wonderful children, Jennifer Gianone of Rockford, Illinois, Julie Houghton of Great Falls, Montana, and Joseph Gianone (Katie) of Malta, Illinois. He is also survived by his uncle, Robert Gianone, who was very much a father to him, two siblings: Jeffrey Gianone and Debra Gianone, both from Orland Park, Illinois, and a cousin who was always full of support and love in Donald's day-to-day life, Jeanne Paul. Donald has nine grandchildren that he loved dearly and often spoke of fondly (Trevion, Aliannah, Tariq, and Aubriella (Jennifer), Jayden and Averi (Joseph), and Isabella, Brooklyn, and Roan (Julie)). He is also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Donald was predeceased by his father, James Gianone, his mother, Arlene Gianone (Ivers), his grandparents, multiple aunts, an uncle, and cousins. We also cannot forget the six fur babies that he loved (Tinker, Little Guy, Sammy, Allister, Ollie and Charlie) they are missing him terribly! Donald was taken from his friends and family way too soon, but I am certain that God is enjoying his company and having some much-needed chuckles. We all love you so much, Donald!
