Donald Ray Gililland, age 88 of Belleville, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Arkansas Heart Hospital. He was born April 20, 1935, in Eakly, Oklahoma to the late William Robert Gililland and Marguerite Lovina "Margie" Rhoades.
He was owner/operator of D&G Manufacturing in Ola and a Franchisee of Popeye's Fried Chicken. He loved being busy, working outdoors, or just setting out on the porch watching the fountain in the pond. He loved his family more than anything and he was the center of his family's world. Family gatherings were an absolute highlight for him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dennis Gililland; brothers, Richard "Dick" Gililland, Jerry Gilliland and a granddaughter, Jamie Defoor.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Gililland; three children, Danny Gililland and wife Lynda, Debbie Franklin and husband Bub, Deidre Vaughn and husband Joey; two stepdaughters, Keri Defoor and husband Mark, Audra Moro and husband Mitchell; one brother, Bill Gililland and wife Nancy; three sisters, Pat Franklin, Jan Schillinger and husband Bob, Shirley Crabtree; grandchildren, Rhys Franklin, Heather Davis and husband Jackie, Chad Franklin and wife Jill, Danette Wynne and husband Keenan, Dustin Gililland, Dylan Gililland and wife Claire, Derek Gililland, Michael Gililland, Nicholas Ward, Kelli Ward and Paul Vega, Sarah Defoor, Dalton Moro and wife Kay and great grandchildren, Braiden Franklin, Landon Franklin, Parker Davis, Jaxson Davis, Matthew Franklin, Aveline Franklin, Aria Wynne, Anastasia Wynne, Spencer Ward, Jacilynn Ward, Wyatt Moro, Taysom Moro, Jayme Shipp and Justin Shipp.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday April 12, 2024, at Lower Spring Creek Cemetery in Belleville. Visitation will be held Thursday, 5-7 p.m. at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers, Rhys, Chad, Dustin, Dylan, Derek, Nick, Dalton and Paul.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Kaufman and Rusty Tharp.
