Donald Joseph Gilson, 87, of Casco, WI, passed away on August 4, 2024. Born in Rosiere, WI, on April 10, 1937, to the late Melvin and Rose (Thiry) Gilson. Donald was an electrician by trade, working in the manufacturing industry for Procter & Gamble. He was known for his love of garage sales, riding around town, and trips to Menard's, Donald enjoyed life's simple pleasures.
In his free time, Donald could often be found scouring garage sales for hidden treasures, taking leisurely drives through town, or making trips to his favorite store, Menard's. Always ready for a good deal or a peaceful drive, Donald's cheerful presence and friendly demeanor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving friends and family; sisters, Dianne Massart, Joanne Blahnik, Mary Anne (Dennis) Lockstein, Sharon (Ken) Rass; brother, Melvin (Mary) Gilson Jr.; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Gilson, as well as by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Rose Gilson; brothers, Allen (Audrey) Gilson, Gary (Patricia) Gilson, Leonal Gilson, Wayne Gilson, infant siblings; brother-in-law, Jim Blahnik; as well as by a niece and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco, Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am with Fr. Daniel Schuster officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military rites. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
