Donald E. "Donnie" Gragg

Donald E. “Donnie” Gragg 82 of Bourneville passed from this life Monday, March 25, 2024 at his home. He was one of 12 children, He was born March 27th, 1941, in Ross County to William Gragg and Ruby (Miller) Gragg. 

He retired from L.P. Cavett where he worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator. Donnie was also a member of Local 18 operators’ union. 

Donnie married Debra “Debi” Gragg on March 17th, 1987. Donnie loved Debi more than anything or anyone else in the world. He would tell anyone he would meet that Debi was the love of his life and his “sunshine.”  

Between the two of them, they had 16 children Lisa (Benny) Skaggs, Todd Gragg, Jessica (Kirk) Metz, Tonya (Cory) Manion, Tony (Jessie) Hurley, Nick (Kara) Gragg, Kyle Gragg, Charlene (Dreamous) Norman, Lana Gragg, Summer (Marquis) Gragg-Jackson, Selena Gragg, Skylar Gragg, Victoria Gragg, Brenden Gragg, Brayleigh Gragg, and Brax Gragg; 27 grandchildren Kyle (Alexis) Skaggs, Kelsey (Joshua) Mygatt, Kameron Skaggs, Isaiah (Kelsey) Liggins, Alex Cruea, Wyatt Cruea, Ella Metz, Alex Metz,  Chloe Manion, Elijah Manion, CJ Manion, Leah Hurley, Macee Hurley, Alayna Lowry, Clayton Lowry, Nolan Lowry, Kyleigh Hurley, Annaleigh Hurley, Easton Gragg, William Hayburn, Adalyne Hayburn, Brantley Gragg, Declan Gragg, Zahmeire Grimes, Dreame Grimes, Trey Grimes, and Zeiani Grimes; 3 great grandchildren Luna Skaggs, Stormie Skaggs and Everleigh June; numerus nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who he cherished and held close to his heart. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law; Judith Herdendorf. Donnie adored his mother-in-law and would have hand-picked her to be his mother-in-law in every universe. He had 2 great best friends in James “Bo” Lucas and Joe Mendenhall whom he loved dearly. 

Donnie’s family meant the world to him, and he loved each of them immensely.  He was greeted in Heaven by his parents; William and Ruby Gragg; his daughter Charlene Norman; granddaughter Carol-Anne Gragg; 8 of his brothers and sisters; and many friends including his best friend, Ed Hammond. 

He had a love for fishing, camping, and cars. He loved showing off his muskee that hangs in his living room and his cars that he spent many hours working on. 

Donnie and Debi were foster parents for over 30 years; they have fostered over 300 children and they adopted 9. Donnie made a huge impact in a lot of people’s lives.

There are no words to show how incredible and inspiring Donnie was. He was generous, thoughtful, and most of all stubborn. He will be missed by many but his love, light, and memory will be passed down through many generations. 

There will be no visitation or funeral services and a celebration of life for the family will be planned at a later time. 
The family would like to thank Adena Hospice for all of their help and comfort during this difficult time. Emily and Jamie went above and beyond for us and we are forever grateful.
