Donald "Don" Green

DONALD "DON" EDWARD GREEN of Livonia passed away, Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the age of 93. He was born on January 22, 1930, in Lorain, Ohio to Donald and Irene (Stiles) Green. Don was the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline for over 46 years. He is the proud father of Brett (Mardy) Green and Carla (Peter) Beers and a loving grandfather to Larissa (Faye) Beers, Kevin Beers, and Nicklas Beers. Don adored his great-grandson, Leo Beers. He is also survived by a loving extended family and several close friends.
Don was the proud business owner of D&G Heating and Cooling of Livonia since 1954; where he continued to work until his passing. He valued the D&G team (past and present) and enjoyed sharing his insights and the history of the craft he loved. Don was also an active member of the Livonia Chamber of Commerce and Livonia Rotary Club.
In his free time, he enjoyed golf, dining out, traveling, and telling stories with an adult beverage in hand (usually a Black Russian). Don was a longtime member of Meadowbrook Country Club. He was also a proud sponsor of the Livonia Over 30 Hockey League. Don will always be remembered for his unwavering determination, generous spirit, selfless nature, and dedication to family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 7, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Road, Livonia. A private burial will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery.
Don supported the American Cancer Society in honor of his wife, Jacqueline. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
