Our beloved father, grandfather and husband passed away on November 22, 2023.
Don was a quiet loving giant among men. He loved his Savior and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel. Don, as he was known to all who knew him and loved him, was born on June 15, 1928 in Ogden, UT to Don Wesley Hewitt and Elva Prisbrey.
He lived in Ogden his first six years, then the family moved to St. George, UT. He attended school and one year of college, then moved back to Ogden where Don met and married his future wife, Dorine Panter, on August 5, 1949. They had their marriage solemnized in the Logan Temple in 1963.
Don was employed at the Bon Marche in the appliance repair department for 25 years. Don built his family home in Roy where he lived and raised his family. He lived a long and blessed life which he attributed to the love of his Heavenly Father. Don and Dorine were married for 74 years when he was called home November 22, 2023.
Don is survived by his wife, Dorine; five children, Kay, Mike (Kathy), Deb, Rick, and Blaine (Judy); 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Garry (Rena). He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Elva Hewitt; two brothers, Lloyd and Max; one sister, Norma; and one grandson.
The family wants to send a special thanks to the entire team at Symbii Home Health and Hospice, especially Dani and Rileigh who were truly a blessing to the family.
