Donald Larry Hill, age 86, of Jacksonville went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 27, 2025. He was born October 26, 1938 in Fairfield, Illinois to Ottis and Myra Hill.
Don is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, his parents and sister, Mary Sue Shaffer.
Don was of the Southern Baptist faith and a long time member of Zion Hill Baptist
Church. He served 22 years in the United States Air Force as a Titan Missile master plumber. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked 20 years for the VA hospital system as a maintenance supervisor for both VA hospitals, where he was employee of the month numerous times and the 1991 Arkansas Federal Employee of the year.
He and Barbara loved to travel all over the United States and Canada. They enjoyed going to gospel singings with their friends.
He is survived by his children, Richard Hill - Jacksonville, Renee (Steve) Hand - Jacksonville, Nathan (Marcia) - Clarksville, TN, Elizabeth (Matt), Stone - Overland Park, KS, and John Hill - Conway, brother Richard Hill - Wichita, KS, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank his caregivers Steve and Renee for caring for him the past 4 years, his caregiver Kaley, the Baptist Hospice care team and the VA home-based team.
