Donald Himel Obituary
Schriever - Donald Himel, 72, a native of Thibodaux and a resident of Schriever, passed away on April 28, 2021.
A memorial visitation will be held in his honor Friday, May 7, 2021, 9:00 am until 11:00 am with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, West Park (4511 West Park Avenue, Gray, LA).
Donald is survived by his daughters; Lisa Boyd and Dawn Himel (Carol); sons, Brett Himel (Samantha) and Travis Himel (Sarah); 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Chaplain; two brothers, Andrew Himel, Jr. and Audie Himel, a.k.a. Bert and a bunch of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Himel, Sr; mother Margie Gonzales; ex-wife Patsy Himel; late companion, Isabell Cavailer; nephews, Richard Barnes and Allen Himel.
He was a retired welder. He loved fishing and sitting outside listening to swamp pop. He was a loving, caring father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma, West Park is in charge of arrangements.
