Donald Hollaway Obituary

Donald Herbert Hollaway was born on June 23, 1937, to Willie and Pauline Hollaway in Baytown, Texas. After his mother Pauline's passing, Willie later marries Wynelle, who became his loving stepmother. He grew up surrounded by family and carried those values of faith, hard work, and kindness throughout his life.

As a young man, Don worked in Hollaway's Grocery, a store owned and operated by his father Willie, before beginning a long and fulfilling career in the polypropylene industry, where he enjoyed a satisfying career and built lifelong friendships. Don loved life and spending time with his family. Being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought him the greatest joy. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, working sudoku puzzles, tinkering with projects, watching movies and sports, caring for his cats, and the simple comforts of home. His deep faith was a guiding presence, providing strength and comfort to both him and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Pauline Hollaway; his stepmother Wynelle; his loving wife Sue Hollaway (June 16,2010); his sisters, Annette and Connie; and his granddaughter Kati. He is survived by his children Steve (Belinda), Jerry (Michelle), Jeff (Arlene), and Suzette; his brother Bill (Carol) and sister Betty Gwen (Wayne); nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.

We hold close the promise of Scripture: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." (Revelation 21:4)

Though he is gone from our sight, his legacy of love and faith lives on in all who knew him. The family thanks you for your prayers, love, and support. May God bless each of you.
