Mr. Donald Horton, 65, of Gadsden, AL, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 after a brief illness.

He is survived by his loving family.

Donald Horton was born on April 18, 1960, in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Earl Horton and the late Mary Hilton Lee Horton.

At an early age, Donald accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved his Mount Zion Baptist Church family.

Donald was educated in the Gadsden City School System. He was well known in the community as a ray of sunshine and joy to be around.

After a brief illness he departed this life on April 23, 2025, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Horton; mother, Mary Horton; brother, Roderick Horton; sister, Nicole Dixon and grandparents, Mary G. Lee and Clarence Lee.

He leaves cherished memories with his siblings: Walter (Marion) Cranfield of Virginia Beach, VA, Elaine (Thomas) Bernard of Albertville, AL, Clarissa L. Horton, Tracey Horton Young, Clarence (Errin) Horton, Venus Horton and Eboni N. Marbury, all of Gadsden, AL; aunts, Mary Lee of Detroit, MI and Thelma Lee of Petersburg, VA; a host of nieces and nephews; special cousin, Era (Tim) Vinson; special friends, Betty Calloway, Sylvia Hunt, Valerie Player and Terry Smith.

Public Visitation will take place from 4pm-6pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at West Gadsden Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will take place at 3pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Eulogist: Pastor Z Andre Huff.
