Donald Howarth

Donald Eugene Howarth transitioned to his forever home on December 7, 2025. Born on April 9, 1930, in Newkirk OK to Arthur and Opal Howarth, Don was a man of great character. His generosity, kindness, and love were hallmarks of his life. Don spent time daily studying God's Word then sharing what he learned through teaching Sunday School classes and the way he lived his life.
He married Fern Marie Holcomb on September 14, 1951, in Augusta Ks. After a stint in the Navy, he began working for Pacific Bell Telephone in San Diego CA. Upon moving back to Kansas, he worked until 1985 for Southwestern Bell Telephone. Upon retirement, Don and Fern moved to Noel Missouri and spent twenty-four years taking care of their beautiful property which they immensely enjoyed. They moved to Ponca City OK in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Fern, three children, Elizabeth Howarth of Wichita, Gary (Pam) Howarth of Leslie AR, and Rebecca (Bud) Zolman of Abilene TX. Also, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, three sisters, and a myriad of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and a sister, and a great granddaughter.
Celebration of life services will be January 2, 2026, at Central Baptist Church, Ponca City at 12:30 pm. A graveside service with military honors follows at 3:00 pm at Parker Cemetery, Arkansas City KS.
Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Academy, Ponca City, OK or Wounded Warriors.
Cremation will be effected and graveside services will be arranged by Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home & Crematory.
