Don grew up in Selah, Washington, and graduated from Selah High School in 1961. Don married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Asher, and together they had three daughters. Later in life, Don married Jean Morrow, having one daughter.
Don's passion for cars brought him years of enjoyment from race car driving, a modified stock, at Skagit Speedway, to restoration of his beloved 1970 SS El Camino with 3.96 engine.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Eunice, brother, David Johnson, and youngest daughter, Sarah Fjheld (2021). Don is survived by his three daughters, Tammy Sabiston, Angela Smith, Tonya Wiley, grandchildren, Cliff (Hope) Sabiston, Jason (Sarah) Dunn, Tara (Chris) Sabiston, Alexa Smith, Taylor, Logan, Madysen, and Gabe Fjheld, seven great-grandchildren, and brother, Melvin (Sue) Johnson, and sister, Karen Purnell.
A Memorial Service will be held on November 9, 2022, at 2:00pm, at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect, Moxee, WA 98936). A Gathering will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to the Heart Foundation and mailed in care of Brookside Funeral Home (PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936), who is caring for the family. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.brooksidefuneral.com. Click to view LIVE service
