Donald Parker Jones

Donald Parker Jones, 90, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Gower Convalescent Center, Gower, MO. Donald was born November 21, 1934 in Freemont, MO in a dirt floor log cabin to Dillard and Geneva (Payne) Jones. He was a 1953 graduate of the Platte County High School. Donald began his military service in 1957 as a member of the Big Red 1 Unit. He served in Germany in 1959 and continued in the Reserves in 1961. Donald began working for WC Tingle in 1959, where he worked for 40 years until his retirement in 2000. He also met his wife Rosetta Mae Stratemeyer in 1959. Donald also worked for 12 years in Airport Security. He was a life member of the Eagles Lodge in Leavenworth, KS, and enjoyed dancing with his wife. Donald enjoyed riding motorcycles, travelling, going to the casinos, and coaching softball. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosetta; his parents; his sister Judith (Keith) Boyer, and a daughter Donna Jo. Donald is survived by: his son Scott; granddaughters Chelsie (Brandon), Heather, and Hannah (Andrew); great grandchildren Braddock, R.J., Jaxson, Beau, Buck, Parker, and Scottie. A graveside service with military honors will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at the Platte City Cemetery, Platte City, MO.
