Donald Morris Davis Jr., 71, of Oakboro, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.
Donald was born December 17, 1951 in North Carolina to the late Donald Morris Davis Sr. and the late Hattie Tucker Davis.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Lynda Elizabeth Smith.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A memorial service will follow in the Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley.
Donald was a wonderful husband and father. He was an inductee of the Stanly County Sports Hall of Fame and the Catawba College Sports Hall of Fame, having played as quarterback. Donald worked with Bank of Stanly for 31 years where he reached the position of Senior Vice President. Some of Donald's favorite pastimes included cooking, and playing lots of golf. But his most cherished moments were spent with his family.
Survivors include: wife, Brenda Davis; daughter, Cresta Nicola; brother, John Davis; grandchildren, Chloe Nicola and Courtney Nicola; nieces, Hollie Morris, Hannah Burris, Kim Hogan, and Heather Shaw; nephews, Sean Davis, Seth Smith, and Andy Smith.
Donations may be made to West Albemarle Baptist Church.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Davis family.
