Donald Kammerich Obituary

Donald Raymond Kammerich, 64, of Pilot Grove, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home.

He was born December 8, 1960, in Cooper County, son of Curtis R. and Joan Margaret (Lang) Kammerich.

On July 27, 1985, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, he was united in marriage to Diane Eichelberger.

Don was a 1979 graduate of Pilot Grove High School. As a teenager, he began working for the Pilot Grove Coop, now Prairieland FS, where he was a dedicated employee for the last 45 years. He loved his work and was a hard worker.

Don served on the Pilot Grove Area Fire Protection District for 35 years and was the deputy chief.

Don loved his whole family and was proud to be a grandpa. He played summer ball for many years on the Clear Creek and Pilot Grove Pioneers teams. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, float trips, being outside working in the yard, and loved dogs. He helped decorate the community for Christmas each year, as well as his own property. He cared a lot about the Pilot Grove community and helping others.

Surviving are his wife, Diane, of the home; two sons, Drew Kammerich (Alisha), of Marshall, and Darrin Kammerich (Isabella), of Pilot Grove; a grandson, Ridge Kammerich; five siblings, Carl Lee Waller (Janet Shipman), Curtis Randall Kammerich (Carolyn), Margaret Kay "Peggy" Kammerich, Rachel Lynne Kammerich, and Kevin Dean Kammerich (Renee), all of Pilot Grove; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Sharon Miller, of Sanger, TX, Hoke Eichelberger (Christie), of Boonville, Marvin Eichelberger (Tammy), of Boonville, Teresa Hoeppner (Larry), of Higginsville, and Ardan Eichelberger (Stacie), of Boonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy Waller; Diane's parents, Bernard and Gerrie Eichelberger; brother-in-law, Jeff Miller; and nephew, Chad Miller.

Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
