Donald "Scott" Kindle

Donald "Scott" Kindle, 79, of Evans, Washington passed away on August 8, 2025. Scott, as everyone called him, was born on August 28, 1945, in Carbondale, PA. He was the son of Michael and Mabel (Cole) Kindle. He was a 4-year veteran of the Air Force, stationed in Germany. He worked his entire career at GTE as an engineer. In 1978, he moved to Snohomish, Washington with his companion, Ruth, and finally retired and moved to Evans in 1995. Scott and Ruth were married on February 23, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nevada after 25 years together. They loved to travel and explore many different cultures. They loved being outdoors, whether it was camping or working on their property and in the garden, to make it beautiful.

Scott was a loving father, husband, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He had a love of dogs and could always be found sharing his "leftovers" with them. He even tried his hand at farming and raised two pigs, named Mabel and Mickey (after his parents). He was forever a jokester. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge. Scott loved playing poker for fun and visiting the casinos whenever he was in Nevada. He loved going to Maverick's Restaurant for breakfast and treating others to a meal. He was generous, not only to family and friends, but also to those he didn't know. Scott was an avid woodworker and when he wasn't in his workshop making or fixing something, he could be found watching a western on TV. He also loved to hunt and fish.

Scott is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Dave Erickson; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Christie Kindle; stepson, Ronald (Lisa) Miller; grandchildren, Anthony (Abigail Choiniere) Rivera, Marissa (Nicole) Truedson-Rivera, Jonathan Kindle, Nicholas Kindle; brother-in-law, Paul Wayland; sister-in-law, Sharre Martin; longtime friend, Nancy Jenson; nieces, Brenda (Eric) Hopson; Sharon (David) Sidle, Sue Moore Gilles, Jennifer Yarbrough, Gayle (Art) Spruch, Michelle (Jim) Meckley, Karen Kindle DeHaan, Vicki Martin, Jennifer Satterfield, Amber Satterfield; nephews, Greg (Ratree) Wayland, Randall (Heather) Wayland, Jeffrey (Dorothy) Wayland, James (Jennifer) Moore, Joseph (Leslie) Moore, Michael (Barbara) Hessling, David Post, Stephen (Tammy) Post, Michael Kindle, James Kindle Jr., Mark (Corinna Connors) Kindle, Dusty (Judy) Martin; many great-nieces and great-nephews.
