Donald Larry “Duck” Meers, Sr., 74 yrs old, Born April 12, 1950 of Powder Springs, GA passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Family will receive friends during services at West Cobb Funeral Home Marietta, GA on Tuesday January 7, 2025 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00-11:00 AM with Rev. Sam Ghetty officiating at the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home Marietta, GA. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM Cooper's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches, GA.
Donald "Duck" is survived by his son Donald Larry Meers, Jr. (Julie) of John’s Creek, GA; sister Juanita Garner (Tommy (deceased)) of Powder Springs, GA; brother Gary Meers of Zebulon, North Carolina; grandchildren by marriage, Shay, Bruce and Libby; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Patricia “Trish” Meers and Mother of his only child Brenda Meers; Father William Floyd Meers and Mother Stella Grace Meers; Brothers, Charles William "Bud" Meers (Carlene), and Billy Fred "Buck" Meers (Joyce); infant sister. Duck was the baby of 6 siblings.
Born in Austell, GA. He was a lifelong resident of Cobb County, GA. He retired from Coca-Cola in Atlanta, GA after working for 25 years. Duck loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Duck's love and presence will be greatly missed by his family and friends. All arrangements are being handled by West Cobb Funeral Home Marietta, GA.
