Donald P. Meyer age 43 of 6750 Luella St., Newport, Ohio died Thursday, May 17, 2012 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born December 6, 1968 in St. Marys to Adolph "Sonny" & Joan (Utz) Meyer, who both survive in Newport. On May 26, 1990 he married Tammy Larger at St. Michael Catholic Church, Ft. Loramie, Ohio. She survives in Newport. He is also survived by son & daughter, Bradley & Rachel both at home. He is also survived by brothers & sisters, Michael Meyer, Newport, Walter & Kathy Meyer, Newport, Jean & Kevin Borchers, Russia and Janet & Mike Siegel, Ft. Loramie. He was preceeded in death by his brother Dale Meyer. Also surviving are Tammy's parents Elmer & Janice Larger, Ft. Loramie, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Deb & Tom Watercutter, Anna, Judy Larger, Ft. Loramie, Tina & Tony Pleiman, Ft. Loramie, Nancy & Brian Eilerman, Ft. Loramie, Susie & John Eilerman, Ft. Loramie, Ted & Sam Larger, Houston, OH and numerous nieces & nephews. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport, Minster F.O.E. #1391 Versailles F.O.E. # 2347 Celina Moose # 1473, Newport Sportsman Club, Sons of the American Legion, Ft. Loramie. He loved spending time with his wife and kids, watching volleyball and playing cards. He was co-owner and operator of Meyer's Garage & Drive Thru. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Monday, May 21, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Shoup celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 20 and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Monday May 21. Burial will take place in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers the family requests donations be made to Ft. Loramie Fire Department and the Houston Rescue Squad. Condolences may be made at www.hogenkampfh.com.
