Donald Charles Montney, of Clarkston, passed away on November 16, 2025, at 75 years of age. He was born in Flint, Michigan, on August 11, 1950, to loving parents Donald Howard Montney and Donnabelle Mae Montney (née Smith).

Donald was a proud graduate of Mount Morris High School, Class of 1968. Not long after, he met the love of his life, Margaret Holt, through a mutual friend. The two were married on May 26, 1973, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Rochester, and together they built a beautiful family and 52 years of cherished memories. Don continued his education at Oakland University, earning both his undergraduate degree and a Master's in Computer Engineering. He enjoyed a long and dedicated career with GM Buick City in Flint, where he worked for 30 years as an electrician until his retirement. A man of many talents and endless curiosity, Don spent his free time pursuing a variety of creative and hands on hobbies. He was an accomplished woodcarver, a skilled tinkerer who built and repaired computers for family and friends, and he even dabbled in blacksmithing. He brewed his own beer, wine, made cheese, and was known to be an excellent cook. Music of all kinds filled his life, and he carried a deep appreciation for creativity in all its forms.

Don leaves behind his devoted wife of 52 years, Margaret Ann Montney; his children, Benjamin Adam (Mary) Montney and Laura Ann Montney; his grandchildren Alexis (Jesse), Mariah, Hope (Jay), Kayla (Kierran), Autumn, and Duncan; and his great-grandson Leon. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Helen (wife of Wendell), several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Lawrence Howard Montney (Sandy), Wayne Arnold (Elsie) Montney, and Wendell Jay Montney.
