Donald Harris Moorhead, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on November 18, 1936, in Miamiville, Ohio, Don lived a full and vibrant life grounded in family, humor, and his many passions.
For over 68 wonderful years, Don shared his life with his loving wife, Sandy Moorhead. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter and love. Don was a proud father to his daughter, Susan Moorhead, and son, Donald (Melinda Mershon) Moorhead, and doted on his grandson, Cole Harris Moorhead. His family was his greatest joy and source of pride.
An aficionado of antique cars, Don had a particular fondness for the Model A Ford. He devoted countless hours to restoring these classic vehicles and enjoyed road trips across the country, making memories that he cherished deeply. He actively participated in the Model A Club and Classy Chariots, finding camaraderie and joy among fellow car enthusiasts.
Beyond his love for cars, Don was an avid sports fan. He relished playing football and baseball during his high school years and maintained his passion for sports as a loyal supporter of the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. His appreciation for big band music complemented his lifelong love of playing the saxophone.
Don's humor was as infectious as his smile. He had a wicked sense of humor, which endeared him to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, no matter which end of the joke they ended up on. His ability to make others laugh and the kindness he showed will forever be remembered by all whose lives he touched.
As we celebrate the life of this remarkable man, we invite family and friends to gather at the Miamiville United Methodist Church on December 3, 2025. A visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Donald will then be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Miamiville.
In this time of remembrance, we honor Don's legacy-a life lived with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to family and friends. He will be profoundly missed but will live on in the hearts of those who cherished him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Charles Moorhead, Alberta Moorhead and his brother, Philip Moorhead.
