Donald Morgan Obituary

Donald Ace Morgan of Kearney, Neb., was born December 19, 1941, in Sewal, Iowa, and passed away September 13, 2025. He was the son of Harvey and Dorothy Morgan.

Donald graduated from Seymour High School in 1959 and went on to earn his bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting, later completing his PhD at the University of Iowa. He was a professor of accounting for many years, teaching at Western Illinois University, the University of Iowa, Colorado State University, and the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he also served as MBA Director.

He was an avid bowhunter, pilot, and collector, and loved living on his acreage near the North Platte River.

Donald is survived by his wife, Jan of Ault, Colo.; his sons, Lance (Oksana) of Johnstown, Colo., Monty of Ault, Colo., and Cheyne (Brianna Riggio) of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Parker (Rebekah Brannan) Morgan, Oleksandr "Sasha" Shatravka, Staley Siebold (Mythia), Holden Morgan, Sawyer Morgan, and Gillian Morgan; siblings, Ronald Morgan, Mary Morgan, and Carole Adams; and dear friends, Jennifer Slack and Gary Biles. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jon Morgan; and dear friend, Doug O'Herron.

Memorial will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Corydon United Methodist Church with interment at Southlawn Cemetery, Seymour, Iowa.
