Donald Raymond O'Heir

Donald Raymond O'Heir, age 89, of Orland Park, IL, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025. A devoted family man and respected professional, Don lived a full and generous life rooted in love, faith, and service.

Don dedicated many years to Jewel, where he worked with integrity and pride, retiring as a store manager in 1992. His calm leadership and steady work ethic left a lasting impression on both coworkers and customers alike.

He was the beloved husband of 62 years to the late Marietta O'Heir (née Rielly), and a loving father to Don O'Heir, Lynn (Mike) LeVigne, and John O'Heir. Don found great joy in being a grandfather and cherished every moment spent with DJ O'Heir, Michael (Stephanie), Matthew, and Marcus LeVigne.

Don was the dear son of the late Mathew and Helen (nee Hartfield) O'Heir, and a proud uncle to his niece and several nephews. He was known for his quiet strength, warm smile, and deep devotion to his family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 S. Wolf Rd. Mokena, IL 60448. from 9:00 a.m. until 12:15 in which we will meet at St Mary's Catholic Church 19515 115th Ave, Mokena, IL 60448 for a 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial. Inurnment will be at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of one's choice. Don's legacy of love, kindness, and hard work will continue to inspire all who knew him.
