Donald Ottman

Donald Ottman, 87, of Oronoco, Minnesota, passed away on November 16, 2025, at his home. Donald was born December 19, 1937, born at home in Oronoco, Parents Floyd and Clara (Tiedmann) Ottman. Donald graduated from Rochester High School in 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Ardith Larsen, on July 19, 1957, celebrating 68 years, worked at IBM, after retirement from there he went on to work at the Park and Rec in Rochester. Where he made many great friends. He spent many years mowing the cemetery next to their home.

Dons greatest joy was his family. Family gatherings were something he always looked forward to. Over the past few years, making it to his great granddaughter's soccer games and dance recitals many times. He enjoyed talking to his niece and nephews. It always brightened his day when they would call or stop by for a visit. Don was a hard-working guy his entire life, always on the go. He prided himself with having a perfect yard even if it was a small acreage.

He very much enjoyed having a small hobby farm. Over the years he had many animals, including his dogs who were his best friends, goats, sheep, donkeys, and other small animals. His greatest joy now are his two babies Rudy and Molly who are missing him very much.

He is survived by his wife, Ardith. Daughter, Tammy (Dan) Kruger. Son Bruce (Theresa) Ottman. Granddaughter Jen (Chris) Gefaller. Grandson Kurt (Kelly) Kruger. Great Grandchildren Emily, Kyle Gefaller and Callie, Cooper Kruger.

Proceeded in death by parents, brother Orin Ottman, brother-in-law Jim Larsen, and foster brother-in-law Jerry Clausen.

A Celebration of Life will be held this Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 1-3 pm at Ranfranz and Vine Reception Centre, 5482 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN with a 2 pm time of remembrance and sharing. Burial will be at 3:30pm at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
