Donald R. Owens, 89 of Tulare, CA, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at home with his daughters by his side. Don was born on September 21, 1936, in Beaver, Oklahoma to Louise and Earl Owens. He met his wife Loretta Little in San Francisco in 1958 and they married on August 27, 1960. They were married for 45 years until Loretta's passing in 2005. Donald was educated in Tulare, graduating from Tulare Union High School and after graduation moved to San Francisco to start a Drafting career. He was a member and Past President of Tulare Rotary where he attended every weekly meeting for many years. His love for the San Francisco Giants was unwavering, and he attended many games in person. He would visit San Francisco several times a year with his family. He was a volunteer at the World Ag Expo for over 30 years driving spectators to and from the event, he enjoyed listening to many of their stories. He loved riding his bicycle several miles a day and remained as healthy as he could possibly be. He enjoyed his daily coffee at Dennys with his longtime friend Dave Machado and his weekly standing lunch dates with many other longtime friends. He would attend his grandchildren's weekly soccer and baseball games that would lead to him attending his great grandchildren's football and baseball games. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his two daughters, Melanie Freitas (Anthony) and Kimberly Machado (Matt), his grandchildren, AJ, Jordan, Nicole, Marc, Blake, Justin and 12 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife Loretta and his brother Darrel Owens.

A visitation will be held at Millers Funeral Home in Tulare, Ca on December 1, 2025, from 5-7pm. Graveside service will be on December 2,2025 at 11:00am at the North Tulare Cemetery with a reception following at the Tulare Golf Course.
