Donald L. Pearson, 83 of Greenwood, DE passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Genesis Seaford Center. He was the son of the late Catherine and Frederick Pearson.
Donald worked as a machine operator at Playtex for 38 years. While still at Playtex he began working for Willey Knives in Greenwood, which turned into a second career as he was there for almost 40 years before retiring in 2024.
Donald was a 65-year, lifetime member of the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co, where he actively served with the Fire Police (78-31). When he wasn’t involved in the fire services, Donald enjoyed watching NASCAR and rooting for his favorite drivers, Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott.
He bowled on a bowling league in his younger years, and was an active member of Calvary Wesleyan Church in Harrington. He could sit and talk to anyone and easily made friends.
What brought Donald the most joy, was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lois Pearson.
Donald is survived by his children, Richard Pearson (Sherry), Johnathon Pearson, Donna Kay Heberling; grandchildren, Jacob Pearson (Tiffany), Hannah Pearson, Matthew Pearson (Mayalee Carroll), Christian Pearson; great grandchildren, Avery, Leah, Logan; brother, David Pearson (Cheryl Roberts) and other extended family.
