I am very sad to see that Don passed away. In the 1960´s my family lived several houses away from the Pickering´s, on Kenworthy Drive. Kim is my age and she was a friend in elementary school. I also took piano lessons from LaVonne, who was so sweet. We moved from Ankeny when I was 12, and then a couple of decades later I was lucky to meet and see Don frequently through our mutual work in the electrical products distribution industry. He was always so kind and courteous, soft spoken and had a smile for everyone. I´m not sure if early on when we both realized through name recognition that there was this past connection whether he thought to mention it to Kim, but in any case I wanted to let his family know now and to tell you how special he was to many of us at Graybar Electric and how sorry I am for your loss of him.
Sympathies and prayers for peace and comfort to the Pickering family from Cindy (Graham) Kruse and my Bill & Betty Graham family.
