Robert M. Pickering Sr., a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away suddenly on September 13, 2025, at the age of 56 in Salem, Massachusetts. Born on December 1, 1968, in Boston, MA, Robert was a man whose life was marked by his generous spirit and selfless nature.

Robert's professional life was marked by his remarkable craftsmanship as a carpenter. He took great pride in his work and was the proud owner of Bopicks Company, where his skill and dedication were evident in every project he undertook. His work not only showcased his talent but also his desire to build something lasting and meaningful for his community.

He shared a beautiful and loving marriage with his wife, Erin M. (Lewis) Pickering, and together they raised a family that was the center of his world. Robert was a guiding light and hero to his children, Robert Jr. and Mason. He is also survived by his two daughters from a previous marriage, Jenna and Jasslyn. His love for them was evident in every action, every sacrifice, and every moment he spent ensuring their happiness and well-being.

Robert was a beloved brother to Tina Casieri and Sandra Leclair, and he held the memory of his late sister Pamela Leclair close to his heart. He was a fun and caring uncle to Richard Leclair, Madison Roberge, Autumn Long, and Anthony West Jr., and many other nieces and nephews. As a brother-in-law to John Lewis and Meghan Lewis, Robert was a steadfast presence, offering support and camaraderie. Robert is survived by his cherished mother-in-law Denise Lewis and predeceased by his father-in-law Richard. He was lovingly adopted by Gary and Sue Pickering, who provided him with a nurturing and supportive family environment.

His lifelong friendship with John Rossignoll was a testament to his loyalty and the deep bonds he formed with those he held dear. Robert's friends knew they could count on him for anything, and his door was always open.

Robert's love for softball was well-known, and he could often be found on the field, sharing his passion for the game with friends and family. His love for the music of AC/DC was legendary, and his spirit was truly in tune with the band's electrifying energy.

Above all, Robert was known for his big heart. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always looking for ways to help others. His thoughtfulness and selflessness were the hallmarks of his character, and those who knew him were better for it.

Robert's legacy is one of love, kindness, and the joy of giving. He lived his life with a full heart and open hands, and the impact of his generosity will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Family and friends will honor Robert's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home ~ North Shore Chapel, 10 Chestnut Street, Peabody, on Wednesday, September 24th from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Committal services will be private.

In accordance with the family's wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert's name to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.

As we say goodbye to Robert M. Pickering Sr., we celebrate a life well-lived and a man who was truly one of a kind. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories we share and the love we continue to give in his honor. May he rest in peace.

Dear Erin and family,
Sincere condolences on the loss of your husband and best friend. We will keep him and you all in our prayers.
We were lucky enough to see Bob the day he passed away. We hadn´t seen him in awhile. He was helping a friend, of course, John Rossignoll. We talked easily, laughed a lot, and enjoyed the short time we saw him. We´re so glad we did. He was a great guy--sweet, humble, smart, and so talented.
When he did projects for us, he did them with craftsmanship and perfection.
Even though we didn´t see him often, we will miss him. We will surely think of him and keep him in our prayers.
Peace to you all.
