Maria Georgina Mendonça

Maria Georgina Mendonça, of Peabody, Massachusetts, formerly of Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at the age of 60.

Born to Margarita Mendonça (Cunha) and the late Manuel Mendonça in Graciosa, Maria was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt whose warmth, generosity, and kindness touched everyone she met. She cherished her family deeply and will be remembered for her loving spirit.

Maria had a zest for life. She loved to dance, filling any room with her energy and joy, and she delighted in playing bingo, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and laughter of friends.

She was the cherished sister of Maria Mailhiot and her husband David, Lucy Dias, and Natalino Mendonça. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces Christine, Deandra, Amy, and Melissa, and her nephews Michael, Tony, and Matthew, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Family and friends will honor Maria's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home North Shore Chapel, Peabody, on Saturday, August 23rd, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a service in celebration of her life beginning at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody, MA 01960 in Maria's memory.
