Donald Pierson Obituary
Donald Cecil “Duck” Pierson, 72 of Kingsport, died Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness. Born in Scott County Virginia, he has resided in Kingsport most of his life. Donald had worked at Asbury Place in the kitchen. He was a Baptist and enjoyed watching the University of Tennessee football and westerns. Donald loved the outdoors.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents Rufus and Mimia Pierson, and brother Lee Pierson.
Survivors include his four daughters, Melissa Crouch and husband Tony, Jennifer Pierson, Christina Pierson, Jamie Carver and husband Tony; one son Donald Matthew Pierson and wife Alishia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Dana Poore; three brothers Eddie Pierson and wife Jackie, Teddy Pierson and Shirley, Gary Pierson and Maggie; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Brandon Poore and wife Shannon.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, November 8 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Gibson and Rev. George Gibson officiating. Music provided by Jim Gibson and Toke Hensley Singers.
Graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
