Donald "Don" Ratterree Jr.

Donald "Don" Ratterree, Jr., age 60, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on September 13, 2025, with his loving mother by his side.

Born on March 9, 1965, Don devoted his life to family, faith, and hard work. He was a respected Realtor with RE/MAX Allegiance for decades, remembered for his honesty, professionalism, and dedication to helping families find homes.

Don's strong faith in God was central to his life. He often shared Bible passages, uplifting words, and faith-filled music with friends, family, and on social media. His faith was a source of encouragement and comfort to many.

Beyond work, Don lived life with energy and joy. In younger years, he loved riding dirt bikes, and later enjoyed movie nights with his children, making the biggest cannonball splashes at pool parties, drives in his Corvette, annual beach trips, and family gatherings. His laughter and presence filled every occasion with warmth and fun.

He was the devoted husband of Amanda Ratterree, his wife since their marriage in 1991, and the proud father of Darren Ratterree, Kurt Ratterree, Alexis Ratterree, and Dakota Ratterree. He was also blessed with numerous grandchildren who brought him great joy.

In his final decade, Don faced serious health challenges with courage. His mother, Melba "Midge" Ratterree, lovingly cared for him throughout this time with tireless devotion. He is also survived by his siblings, Berna Petry (Bill), Sherry Daminski (Ed), and Craig Ratterree; uncles Junior Ratterree and Terry Ratterree; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ratterree, Sr.; and his uncle Thomas Ratterree.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 26, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
