South Burlington - Donald Richards, 52, passed away on June 13th, 2023
Donald, better known as Chip, was born on April 5th, 1971 in St. Albans. He was the son of Donald Robert Richards and Brenda (Dubuque) Hutchins.
Chip started his early years of life as a dairy farmer on his family farm. He later became a skilled carpenter and landscaper, where he went on to own his own businesses. He also worked at a family business, Sam’s Unfinished Furniture, where he worked alongside his mother and stepfather, Brenda and Roger Hutchins.
He loved the great outdoors, and spent much of his free time fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR. Vermont was his home, but the ocean held a special place in his heart.
His family meant the world to him. He is survived by his parents Brenda Hutchins and Donald Robert Richards; his children, Dustin Richards and his wife Abbi of Milton; Meghan Hayden and her husband Bradley of St. Albans; his grandson Hudson Hayden; his sister Cheri Williams of Maryland; his nephew Jaylin Williams and niece Chelsea Richards and his great niece Maela Cooper of Maryland; his stepbrother Corey Hutchins and his wife Kendra from North Ferrisburgh; their children Jordan and Jacob Hutchins; and his stepsister Wendy Hutchins from Essex.
He will be remembered for his charisma, his sense of humor, and his ability to befriend anyone.
All are welcome to join us for a celebration of life at Minor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milton on Friday, June 23rd from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
