Rock Hill, South Carolina - Mr. Donald Gaston Rockholt, 81, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend J. Wayne Smith Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Born in Rock Hill, August 26, 1941, Mr. Rockholt was the son of the late Moses Rockholt and the late Kathleen Adkins Rockholt. He was a 1961 graduate of Rock Hill High School, followed by York Technical College with a Associates Degree. He worked for "The Bleachery" (RHP&F) and General Tire from which he retired. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, especially making many special canes or walking stix and special projects enjoyed by his grandchildren. He was a member of Mount Holly United Methodist Church.
Mr. Rockholt is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Shipman Rockholt; two sons, Donald Timothy Rockholt and his wife Karen of Rock Hill, and Jeffrey Todd Rockholt of Rock Hill; his brother, John M Rockholt of Rock Hill; his two sisters, Betsy Howell and Elizabeth Langston both of Rock Hill; three grandsons, Donnie Rockholt, James Mounce, Trey Johnson and his wife Chaslyne; his granddaughter, Stacie Rockholt Ford and her husband, Trey; four great-grandchildren, Lilian, Kora, Luke, and Kai; many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Donald Rockholt's name to Mount Holly United Methodist Church, 1996 Mt Holly Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730, or Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
